The new gaging station (02291001 Barron River blw SR29-3 at Copeland), which was installed during 2013 as a test site, will provide discharge record beginning on 1/23/2014. The previous gage was located immediately above a weir with removable gates, and, in recent years, discharge record quality has been reduced due to flow bypassing the weir through the adjacent woods and weir leakage. The new station is located downstream of the weir and should provide improved discharge record. SFWMD BCB personnel were consulted throughout this changeover process.
