Pump installed as part of the STA-5/6 Hydration Project (EFA Permit No. 0311207 and NDPES Permit No. FL0778451). Pump discharges to cell 5-1A. STA dryouts are problematic because upon rehydration, oxidized soil produces spikes in the Total Phosphorus (TP) concentration of the discharge water. Due to the availability of water from Lake Okeechobee, there is an opportunity to evaluate the efficacy of directly providing STA-5/6 with additional water through the dry season to prevent and/or reduce impacts from dryout conditions. |
