Hurricane Charlie made landfall near Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda on 8/13/2004, slightly north of the Caloosahatche River monitoring stations. The hurricane destroyed the instrumentation/platform. The station was deactivated until repairs could be completed, which did not happen until 2009. The station went back online on 9/21/2009 as stations SANIB1 and SANIB2. |
