How deep is water in the Water Conservation Areas east of the Everglades? Are levels in Lake Okeechobee rising or falling? Check regional water storage and depths here.
The SFWMD has monitoring equipment throughout its 16 counties. In the real-time monitoring network, you can check to see water levels in lakes, canals and waterways throughout the region, and/or check to see if coastal gates and other water control structures are open or closed. You can also get current and historic information on rainfall, water levels, water quality and water storage.
If you already know the name of the structure, waterway or location -- you can proceed directly to "Real-Time Water Data" to check on-line for "live," or "real-time" data.
District Rainfall Data
Is this month drier or wetter than "normal"? How does rainfall in my community compare to other communities? The SFWMD has rainfall monitoring stations throughout 16 counties.
You can check to see how much rain has fallen in your neighborhood, or a neighborhood tens, or hundreds of miles away. See how that rain has changed water levels in lakes, canals and waterways throughout the region, and/or check to see if coastal gates and other water control structures are open or closed. You can also compare today's data with decades of accumulated information on the region.

Individuals can also play a part, by learning how the interconnected systems work.
