The District may sell excess earthen "spoil" material to other governmental or private entities when this material is owned by the District and is surplus to District needs. As spoil is a District asset, individuals or entities interested in purchasing the material should contact the Property Management Specialist, at (561) 686-8800 for detailed information on the purchase process. For initial discussion purposes, callers should be able to provide the name or number of the canal or levee from which they wish to obtain the material, a precise location (section, township and range) where the material is located, and the volume of material (in thousand cubic yards) that they wish to purchase.
Since the spoil material is an asset of the District, the theft of such material will be prosecuted as a criminal offense.
