Hetao Irrigation District (China)

The Director-General visited the District to learn about supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA) and hydrologic and environmental systems modeling, and their relation to overall water resource decisions. Presentations by District staff were followed by tours of the Operations Control Center at headquarters, Stormwater Treatment Area-1E, Big Cypress Basin's water management system, Lake Trafford Restoration project and Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.

Florida International University (FIU)'s Everglades Honors Seminar


Students and professors from Florida International University receive an overview presentation from SFWMD environmental scientist, Dr. Jana Newman, before heading out to tour STA-1W.
