The Big Cypress Basin hosts meetings in addition to the bi-monthly meetings of its Board, usually on a variety of issues relevant to the region. Special meetings, often in conjunction with local governments, businesses, or community groups, are occasionally scheduled to discuss topics of particular interest to parts of the region or to solicit feedback from the public and stakeholders.

The Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) meets monthly, at the agency's headquarters in West Palm Beach, as well as at locations throughout the 16 counties within the SFWMD.
