The Okeechobee Service Center is responsible for community and local government outreach, water resources education, the Lake Okeechobee Works of the District program, land stewardship and Environmental Resource Permitting in the area.

You can learn much more about the water resources in our area including Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River, which are the two northernmost links of the greater Kissimmee-Okeechobee-Everglades (KOE) system. Information about planning for the water supply needs of south Florida can be found at the District, as well as information provided by the US Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration and the Restudy of the Central & Southern Florida (C&SF) Flood Control System.
