About the Okeechobee Service Center
divider graphic

The Okeechobee Service Center is regionally located at the center of several of the District’s high-profile programs. Programs that are important to residents of Okeechobee, Highlands and Glades counties include Lake Okeechobee and estuary restoration, the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, and the Kissimmee River Restoration program.

The Okeechobee Service Center is located on the second floor of the Bank of America building in downtown Okeechobee, and provides ready access to SFWMD services for the general public.

Our customers are local residents, businesses, governments, landowners, developers and educational institutions requiring assistance with permitting needs, public information, environmental education, outreach programs, water quality and quantity issues, land management issues, and more. Environmental Resource Permits and Lake Okeechobee Works of the District Permits are issued though our office. Assistance will be provided to obtain Consumptive Water Use Permits and permits to use SFWMD rights-of-way along District-owned canals and properties.

The SFWMD also has an active Speaker’s Bureau and can provide a wide variety of speeches on a number of topics relating to water resource management, our programs and priorities. It would be our pleasure to meet with your organization, give a presentation about our exciting projects and answer your questions.

Please visit the Okeechobee Service Center at 205 N. Parrott Ave., Suite 201 – or phone us at (863) 462-5260.
