Welcome to Watershed Management! This site is being provided to communicate an understanding and appreciation of the scientific, engineering, planning, implementation and management work needed to restore the Kissimmee-Okeechobee-Everglades (KOE) ecosystem, coastal ecosystems and their tributary watersheds. Applied scientific research that helps the District achieve its mission and strategic goals is an integral part of our work. The results increase our understanding of the complex cause-and-effect relationships that exist within the watersheds and allow water managers to make more informed decisions. Browse each of the watershed components shown on the left to learn more about what is being done to protect and restore our ecosystems!
"MY FLORIDA is the tarpon rolling, the mullet leaping for fun, pelicans diving, red-beaked skimmer gulls skimming the surface with their bills, a manatee blowing, and an eagle stealing a fish for an osprey high in the air..."
