D13R with Preliminary V5.0 Topo (D13RwNT) - Sensitivity posted
A performance measure set that compares alternative D13R (Nov 98) with the same simulation run with the preliminary version of SFWMM v5.0 topography has been posted. D13R with the preliminary new topo is labelled D13RwNT.
This is essentially a topography sensitivity analysis since both simulations were made with SFWMMv3.5 and this version of the model has not been calibrated for the new (v5.0) topography. Also as the calibration is finalized and reviewed the v5.0 topo may be updtaed, hence it is referred to as preliminary v5.0 topo. Where possible NSMv4.5 has been included in the performance measures, but in many cases, in order to reflect both the v3.5 and v5.0 preliminary topo, the NSM comparison was ommitted from the performance measures.
WPA Last Added Increment posted
A performance measure set that compares 2050Base, WPA-LAI, WPA-SP and AltD13R (Nov 98) has been posted and made the default performance measure set.
The WPA-SP (selected plan) run is the same as WPA-TSP (tentative selected plan) except for the following changes:
The WPA Last Added Increment Run (WPA-LAI) includes all of the CERP features in the WPA-SP, but does not include any WPA Recommended Plan components (See the WPA Recommended Plan description for more information). It is equivalent to the CERP with WPA features removed.

D13R June 1998 (D13R0698) vs D13R November 1998 (D13R1198) posted
A performance measure set comparing D13R as modeled in June 1998 (now referred to as D13R0698) and D13R as modeled in November 1998 (now referred to as D13R1198) has been posted. Changes were made to D13R to correct errors in the way the modeling of D13R0698 represented some specific design features. A document describing the changes in D13R from June to November 1998 has been included under the "Alternatives Desc/Evaluation" and can also be accessed by clicking "HERE" now.
Note that all performance measure comparisons with D13R made between April 13, 2000 and February 13, 2001 were made against D13R1198. These include the Water Preserve Area Feasibility Study and Indian River Lagoon Project alternative simulations. Alternative comparisons prior to April 13, 2000 were made against D13R0698.
WPA Pre-Selected Plan Scenarios have been posted
Six scenarios on the WPA Pre-Selected Plan were simulated to evaluate the ability of
the WPA-PSP to match the D13R simuation with some non-WPA assumptions set the same as in D13R.
These assumptions were originally changed in the WPA-PSP to better represent reality with the
South Florida Water Management Model, however are changed back in each of
four scenario simulations for better comparison with D13R and to evaluate their individual
impacts. Two additional scenarios first combine the changes in Scenarios 1, 2 and 3, and then
combine the changes in Scenarios 1, 2, 3 and 4.
L67 Decompartmentalization Modeling Evaluation Posted
A Hydrologic Systems Modeling Evaluation of the Removal of L-67 Levees and Canals from the Comprehensive Evergaldes Restoration Plan (D13R) has been posted. Click HERE to see a report on this evaluation.

volumes of flow between different geographical areas as a result of the different alternatives.
At this stage they are available for the NSM,
95BSR,
50BSR,
D13R and
D13R4.
The AET report on Alternative D13R Scenario D13R4 has been posted under "Alternatives Desc/Evaluation", "AET Summary of Evaluated Alternatives"
ALTERNATIVE D13R SCENARIO D13R4 POSTED
A final version of the scenario to capture additional water "lost" to tide, labeled D13R4 has been posted. The posted performance measure set compares scenario D13R4 which was built on the initial attempt to capture additional water posted as D13R1 on January 11, 1999. Modifications from D13R1 to D13R4 were predominantly operational adjustments to better distribute the additional water to Everglades National Park and Biscayne Bay.
A description of the final scenario to Alternative D13R, labeled D13R4, is available under the "Alternatives Desc/Evaluation" button.
ALTERNATIVE D13R SCENARIO D13R1 POSTED
A scenario based on alternative D13R, labeled D13R1 has been posted. This scenario incudes an attempt to capture additional water that was being "lost" to tide and return it to the natural system. Further scenarios using Alternative D13R will be made over the next 4 days with a final version of the scenario to capture additional water scheduled to be posted on Friday January 15, 1999.
A description of the initial scenario to Alternative D13R, labeled D13R1, is available under the "Alternatives Desc/Evaluation" button.
IMPLEMENTATION PLAN - FINAL 2010 CASE STUDY POSTED

Performance measures compare the 1995Base, 2050Base, AltD13R, and initial 2010 Case Study (designated as PHASEA1) simulations. A brief overview of the 2010 Case Study components is available under the "Alternatives Desc/Evaluation" button on the left hand side of the screen. Any revisions to the design of the 2010 Case Study are scheduled to be made during January 4-6, 1999 with posting of the final Phase A simulation scheduled for January 7, 1999.
A Special Investigations section has been added under the "Alternatives Desc/Evaluation" button. Descriptions of the special investigations are given in a Summary which describes all of the special investigations, and in a Details section which links to documents describing each individual investigation.
Special investigations include modeling undertaken to assess the sensitivity of the selected alternative (ALTD13R) to the removal of individual components, and the modeling and evaluation of scenarios proposed at various stages during the restudy alternative development process.
The following Special Investigations have been included:
The Pink Shrimp Recruit Catch Rate on Tortugas Grounds, performance measure for Alternative D13R has been posted. It can be accessed through, "Bays","Florida Bay".
A revised version of the Annual and Daily Average Demands for LEC Service Area Water Utilities has been posted under "View Maps and Tables"/"Inputs". This reflects the revisions to the 2050 Base that incorporate the SFWMD's mandatory conservation program, which is a 12 % reduction over the original 2050 Base. Alternative D (and Alt. D13R) includes component AAA which requires an additional 6% reduction in public water supply demands in the LEC.
Revised versions of the stage hydrographs and stage duration curves for canal C-103 at S-20F have been posted fot the AltD13R performance measure set.
A revised draft version of the Alternative D13R description has been posted.
The Alternative Evaluation Team (AET) has completed their review of Alternatives A - D, plus the refinements made to D resulting in D13R. This review resulted in selecting Alt D (D13R) as the initial draft plan. This draft report includes the evaluation methodology and the resulting matrixes developed for each subregion. The report and matrixes use several evaluation methods to garner the all of the team's perspectives: a ranking amongst the alternatives, a letter grade based on how well the alternative achieved its goals, and a color indicating its ability to achieve long-term success. The report can be found under the alternative description/evaluation button on the left hand side of the screen.
A minor error was identified in the calculation of the C23/C24/Northfork/Southfork basin runoff that affected the two St. Lucie performance measures graphics that were posted on June 28, 1998. This error was corrected and both performance measure graphics have been updated and reposted.
Alternative D13R has been refined to include improved sizing of storage facilities in the Indian River Lagoon Basins. The two St. Lucie performance measures affected by this refinement have been reposted
REFINEMENT OF INITIAL DRAFT PLAN: ALTERNATIVE D13 REVISED and POSTED
Alternative D13 has been revised (ALTD13R) to include the same truncations of the time series triggers in Rotenberger and Holey Land Wildlife Management Areas that were included in Alternative D but omitted in Alternatives D7 and D13. This improves the performance of ALTD13R in Rotenberger and Holey Land to the same as it was in Alternative D, while maintaining the improved performance that Alternative D13 showed in the Water Conservation Areas and the Everglades National Park.
REFINEMENT OF INITIAL DRAFT PLAN: ALTERNATIVES D7 and D13 POSTED
Refinements have been made to the Initial Draft Plan (Alternative D) to improve its performance in four key areas of the Everglades. These refinements have been posted as Alternative D7 and Alternative D13. Alternative D7 includes operational modifications to Alternative D, while Alternative D13 includes both operational and structural changes to Alternative D to make it more like Alternative B. Click here for details on the refinements and a brief summary of their preliminary results.
The following performance measure graphics were corrected for the Alt D portion of the set comparing Alternatives A, B ,C
and D with the revised 2050 Base. A post processing glitch had caused the Alt C results to be shown in the Alt D portion for
these graphics.
SET COMPARING ALTERNATIVES A, B, C and D POSTED
A performance measure set that compares alternatives A, B, C and D with
the revised 2050 Base has been posted and made the default performance measure
set. These results are the same as those posted on May 4 and May 11 but,
combine the 4 alternatives in one set for ease of comparison.
Note: The 1995 Base is not shown on this performance measure
set.
ALTERNATIVES A, B and C POSTED
Note: Alternatives A, B and C are revised versions of Alternatives
3, 4 and 5 respectively and are compared with the revised baseline
simulations.
