In 1983 a Memorandum of Agreement between the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation (FDEP), the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund (BTIITF), the South Florida Water Management District, and the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission (GFWFC) was established to design and construct a restoration plan for the Holey Land and Rotenberger Tracts as well as a portion of the Seminole Indian Reservation. In 1990 a Memorandum of Agreement between the SFWMD and GFWFC was established to begin the monitoring of the Holey Land. The water quality monitoring program involves collecting data, and documenting conditions to better understand the hydrology and environmental resources in achieving the goals of the Holey Land Restoration Project. |
